The first images are coming in as the transformation for the Grand Walk work around major streets of downtown Athens has began.

Athens is converting major downtown streets and boulevards, about 5 miles worth, to walkways, including the renovation of Omonia Square in downtown. The Great Walk is a major project that will radically change the image of the historic center of Athens. Visitors will have the opportunity to get to know up close while on foot, important historical and archeological sites, as well as the multiple amenities of the city. The coronavirus served as a catalyst on this mega project due to be completed within two years!!!
