Today I am going to talk to you about the little sister island of what has become my favorite island in the Greek Cyclades. Her name is Kímolos and she is very close to Milos. ⁣It is a lovely little island. The center of activities in Kimolos is Chora, the capital of the island, a picturesque settlement that stretches around the port of the island. ⁣
As for the beaches of Kimolos, there is a nice beach near the port, but you can find many attractive beaches around the island that can be reached on foot or by boat. ⁣ There are daily ferries from Kimolos to Milos and vice versa. Its tranquil environment and natural landscape make it a great destination for a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. ⁣
The beaches of Kimolos are possibly the jewels of the island. Prassa, Pshati, Aliki, Agios Georgios and Kalamitsi are the best beaches on the island. Aliki and Kalamitsi are located on the south side of the island, while Agios Georgios is located on the north side. ⁣
In the capital there are the remains and ruins of a Venetian castle in which open-air cinema is organized on some summer nights. ⁣As in many of the Cyclades, there are also picturesque windmills. ⁣Goupa and Rema are two beautiful fishing villages with their traditional little houses.
From this island you can also visit Polyegos which is an uninhabited island home to huge colonies of monk seals and sea turtles. It can be explored by boat. It has impressive blue water marinas and caves.
Skiadi is a mushroom-shaped volcanic rock and is located in a place on the island with stunning views.
This island is especially hospitable. There is even a group of volunteers, the kimolistes, who maintain public libraries, give toys to children on the beach, and organize hiking trails.
I shared this post on my Instagram account. In it, there is a lot of information for traveling and curious minds and I always talk about the images that you are going to see.You can contact me on instagram @nolimitideas
