Greece From Home

New platform for virtual visits to Greece

The Hellenic Tourism Ministry tourism unveiled a new platform “Greece from Home“, enabling virtual visits to Greece. The platform was developed in cooperation of the National Greek Tourism Organisation, Marketing Greece and Google.

Tourism Minister Haris Theoharis noted that “Greece stays home but doesn’t stay home”. This way, visitors will visit  virtually many villages, cities, and towns throughout Greece and experience the beauty and culture of Greece.

Mr. Theoharis continued that “In addition to measures to protect public health, shield and restart the economy and rebuild Greek society, the government is also taking steps to strengthen the image of our country as a tourist destination in the framework of its overall strategic response to COVID-19 pandemic”. He also noted that no one knows what the future holds or predict how long the coronavirus will hinder the tourism.

Tourism is a vital part of the Greek economy as the hospitality industry expands to all levels of businesses and employment from hotels, shops, land and sea transportation, island life and all people who work as a result of tourism and the spending of the travelers.

Stay Home, Be well!
