Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks deliver a wish for the Greek Bicentennial Anniversary of the War of Independence, 1821-2021.
The Hollywood superstar was granted an honorary Greek citizenship by decree last year.
Rita Wilson is also a Greek Citizen as she was born Margarita Ibrahimoff to a Greek mother, Dorothea, and Bulgarian father in Los Angeles. Under Greek law, persons with Greek parents or grandparents can obtain citizenship. Honorary naturalization may be also granted to people “who have provided exceptional services to the country or whose naturalization serves the public interest.”
Through the years. Rita and Tom have shown their love for Greece, where they have spent many summer holidays especially on their holiday home in the island of Antiparos in the Cyclades.
Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are being married for 30 years.
