Athens just opened her first drive-in movie theater. The City Drive-In is in a unique location on Lycabettus Hill overlooking the city of Athens.
Thousands have already seen the first movies and it is bound to become a popular attraction. Greeks are very familiar with open theaters, and they are watching movies under the stars for long time, as summer open theaters are all over the country. However, watching a movie from inside a car, is more like an American past-time favorite and Greeks did not have that experience until now.
We are in the Covid-19 era, for which going into a movie theater does not seem to be happening anytime soon. The City Drive-In makes perfect sense under the current circumstances.
